Long-chain alkyl dimethyl tertiary amines are the key intermediates for cationic quaternary ammonium surfactants. Produced by catalytic amination of fatty alcohols, they offer high purity, light colour and low primary/secondary amine content.

Key Applications
- C12 DMA: the main raw material for biocide 1227 (benzalkonium chloride)
- C16 DMA: used to synthesise fabric softener 1631 and antistatic agents
- C18 DMA: used for softener 1831, oilfield corrosion inhibitors and mineral flotation agents
Quality Specs & Customization
Tertiary amine content, primary/secondary amine impurities, colour and moisture are controlled to premium industry grades and supplied with a COA. Special specifications can be negotiated. Final specifications are subject to contract.
Packaging & Storage
Packed in 200 L steel drums or 160 kg new drums, or to customer requirements. Tertiary amines have a slight amine odour - keep containers sealed, away from ignition sources, and handle as general chemicals.
